The BMW 6-Series
The sixth series offered by BMW are consisting of models that are based off of models from the series 7 and the series 5 cars that people most loved. It was hoped that with developing these cars into their own series that the automaker could give consumers something that they would like even better. These cars were meant to be even more extravagant than the past models that BMW has offered and was catered to those that were wanting something more than what was considered the standard of what BMW had to offer. For these reasons, there are many that love the six series and would never think of having anything else to drive.
The current series six is one that many people are looking forward to as it is now just hitting the market in most parts of the world. Those that are wanting speed, precision handling and overall sleek looks are going to find that the series 6 is something that is going to interest them. These models were shown at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and are going to start being available come the later part of 2011. However, what is so special about these cars is that they are still going to have the class of past models, but the performance of these are an edged up a bit in order to give the person what they are wanting. For example, there are going to be two petrol engines that are super charged, in order to give a great acceleration time and steady performance throughout a drive. These cars are going to be available in a two door coupe and a two door convertible option. The convertible option is going to have a soft cloth drop top instead of the hard top that past generations have had.
One of the more odd things about the series six is that there has not been steady generations of these produced each year. They were produced starting in 1976 and the first generation lasted until 1989. The first generation can be stylized as what the typical BMW was of that time. It has the boxy shape to it with the round headlights and was above and beyond most other cars when it came to safety.
The second generation was not produced until 2003, during the lull time BMW focused their efforts on other series in order to improve their lineup of cars that they were offering consumers. The second generation was when the company decided to offer a more affordable version of the series 6 with one car that has a six cylinder engine. These cars were once again available as a two door coupe or two door convertible, both of which consumers loved.
All in all, the series 6 is one that very few people have not heard of. They took the best of what they had and made it better and offered it to consumers for their driving pleasure this is why many people are devoted consumers of the line.
